libasound.so.2 in emul-linux-x86-soundlibs-20071125 is alsa version 1.0.14. 32bit apps, skype for example, do not work any more with kernel 2.6.24 alsa drivers. 32bit libasound compiled from alsa-lib-1.0.16rc2 works fine with skype. emul-linux-x86-soundlibs should be updated to a newer alsa version
it would be nice if the alsa-plugins pulseaudio plugin would be included.
(In reply to comment #1) > it would be nice if the alsa-plugins pulseaudio plugin would be included. > Seriously. This was marked as FIXED in bug 194697 and 186820 but I don't see any actual fix. Neither 20071114 nor 20071125 has them.

emul-linux-x86-soundlibs-20080316 has the same problem (version 1.0.14a). It affects also 2.6.23-gentoo-r8.

Any word on this? I'd really like this fixed for the 2008.0 release.
Downgrading alsa-utils alsa-lib and alsa-headers to 1.0.15 works around this problem at least for firefox-bin and netscape-flash with gentoo-2.6.24
Please update, 32 bits apps are all broken, and I don't want to downgrade to have a workaround, it can be fixed by a simple update.
