The emul-linux-x86-soundlibs package (version 10.0-r1) comes with basic alsa libraries (multilib ). However, some 32 bits applications using alsa may need 32 bits alsa plugins. This is especially true in my case where : - I _need_ to use 32 bits skype (corporate decision I cannot discuss although I would have much to say about) - I _want_ to use the pulseaudio sound server whose 64-bits alsa plugin is delivered with the alsa-plugins package I haven't try yet, but I'm pretty sure I won't have sound with my favorite game (enemy-territory) neither. Question : is there a strong reason why a 32-bits version of alsa-plugins (that would install plugins in /usr/lib32/alsa-lib) is not included in emul-linux-x86-soundlibs ? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Emerge pulse audio 2.Configure alsa to use the pulse plugin 3.Configure a 32 bits app (skype) to use the pulse plugin 4.Run the 32 bits app Actual Results: $ skype ALSA lib control.c:875:(snd_ctl_open_conf) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib32/alsa-lib/libasound_module_ctl_pulse.so ALSA lib pcm.c:2106:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib32/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_pulse.so ALSA lib pcm.c:2106:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib32/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_pulse.so Expected Results: 32 bits alsa plugins found in /usr/lib32/alsa-lib NB : it would require, regarding the pulseaudio plugin at least, to deliver a 32 bits version of libpulse in emul-linux-x86-soundlibs too.
emul-linux-x86-soundlibs-20071114 in the tree p.masked. use at your own risk.

I _have_ to use pulseaudio because of my soundcards configuration. Please include it!!
Alsa-plugins are still missing in emul-linux-x86-soundlibs-20080316. I use pulseaudio as soundserver and I've no sound in all 32 bits apps. I had to emerge alsa-plugins in a 32 bit chroot and to copy these libs, and I yhink it is in the emul package to support that.
Yes, I reopen this bug because libpulse and the pulse alsa plugin is not delivered in the latest emul package. Notice that ubuntu hardy heron delivers it. $ qlist app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-soundlibs-20080418 | grep pulse || echo NOT FOUND NOT FOUND

Same problem here. I'd very much appreciate the inclusion of the alsa pulseaudio plugins, though the native pulseaudio libs in 32bits would be a nice addition, too. (JACK's are in there, too..) Thanks.
It would probably be good to add libflashsupport (with pulseaudio support) to this package too.
we are currently testing a soundlibs with pulseaudio support enabled. Expect to see it in the tree soon.
Sounds good. It will incluse 32bit libflashsupport.so ?

Any news about that ? Maybe you can put it on some overlay to make it possible to test it for more ppl if it's not finished.

I also need 32 bit Alsa-Libs. Specifically, libasound_module_pcm_a52.so
