Description George Retsinas 2008-01-18 23:25:14 UTC
latest filezilla version in portage tree ==> 3.0.4
latest filezilla version available ==> 3.0.5.2

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 George Retsinas 2008-01-18 23:35:37 UTC
I believe that just renaming the ebuild will work...
Comment 2 Mcklaren 2008-01-30 22:56:29 UTC
Last version available is 3.0.6

You mean latest. Well, as of now yes. But when I submitted this bug 3.0.5.2 was the latest one.
Comment 4 Kalidarn 2008-02-16 05:17:10 UTC
version 3.0.7 is available now

Comment 5 Sven Müller 2008-02-21 17:13:01 UTC
now: filezilla-3.0.7.1

To get it working, just copy the ebuild from 3.0.4 to filezilla-3.0.7.1.ebuild

It seems there's no change in the ebuild needed.
Comment 6 Milos Popovic 2008-03-02 20:57:39 UTC
You may even consider pulling gftp out of portage. It is an old, unmaintained, bugy program, but is still marked as stable.

Filezilla have much more to to give in future, and much more "happy users".
Comment 7 Kalidarn 2008-03-14 12:33:12 UTC
Filezilla 3.0.8 is now out
Comment 8 ScytheMan 2008-04-04 19:12:17 UTC
The latest version of FileZilla Client is 3.0.8.1
Comment 9 Eric Chatellier 2008-04-08 09:38:00 UTC
Filezilla 3.0.9.1 is out.

Just rename ebuild works again :)
Comment 10 Pham Ngoc Hai 2008-04-23 22:10:35 UTC
Renaming still works for 3.0.9.2, tested on amd64 and x86 arch
Comment 11 lordcris 2008-04-26 01:18:40 UTC
is somebody going to put the new ebuild in portage or we'll just rename old ones till the end of time?
Comment 12 Tobias Jakobi 2008-04-26 11:42:10 UTC
Seconding a version bump in portage. FileZilla is currently one of the best GUI based FTP clients we have on linux, there should really be an updated version in portage!

Greets,
Tobias
Comment 13 ScytheMan 2008-05-11 02:14:18 UTC
3.0.9.3 released.
Comment 14 Nicholas J. Michalek 2008-05-15 21:56:23 UTC
Someone bump this. And possibly mark it stable, because Filezilla is more stable than other ftp clients in the tree that are marked stable...
Comment 15 Luka Blaskovic 2008-05-22 09:56:48 UTC
Filezilla 3.0.10 tested on adm64 with renamed ebuild. Working fine, please put it in main portage tree.
Comment 16 Xake 2008-05-22 14:19:05 UTC
Does this software need a securityissue before somebody bumps it?
Comment 17 Sven 2008-05-26 09:19:16 UTC
What's going on? Bug is assigned to Jason Smathers but nothing happens.

Please give a small status update.
Comment 18 a+gentoobugs 2008-05-30 18:09:08 UTC
Could we please have a status update?
Comment 19 Andreas Prieß 2008-06-13 10:01:50 UTC
Filezilla 3.0.10 tested on x86 with renamed ebuild - working fine.

Would also like to see this updated in portage.
Comment 20 Nicholas J. Michalek 2008-06-13 11:52:40 UTC
OK seriously. Give me the credentials, and I'll commit it myself. Otherwise, reassign this to someone else, because Jason Smathers appears to be dead. (Apologies and condolences if this is literally true.)
Comment 21 Nicholas J. Michalek 2008-06-13 12:11:10 UTC
Oh interesting... look at bug 186663 - he's actually just really busy. So, as I said before... let's find a new assignee!
Comment 22 Eric Thibodeau 2008-06-17 17:42:16 UTC
3.0.11 is out and a simple ebuild copy from 3.0.4 was what I did and it built with no significant problems other than a few warnings at compile time:

warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules

...really, do we need someone to "maintain" this one, it's just an ebuild copy and the original one is masked anyways...
Comment 23 Bernard Cafarelli gentoo-dev 2008-07-01 21:15:51 UTC
With approval from Jason, I've just added 3.0.11 to portage.
Thanks everyone for your patience
Comment 24 Sven 2008-07-01 21:51:41 UTC
Thank you, Bernard!
Comment 25 Tobias Jakobi 2008-07-01 22:09:01 UTC
