Description Radek Podgorny 2003-05-06 20:40:10 UTC
Hi,

I'm sorry if this is a wrong place for this idea but I think gentoo-stable
should be enhanced a bit. When I go there and click I'm satisfied with the
latest unstable mplayer ebuild, what exactly does this information tell to the
developer? I think it means nothing because the developer doesn't know about the
users which are still having problems. Yeah, I know there's a bugzilla for that
but it's not the same. There should be an option to enter "it doesn't work"...

Imagine you're a developer and visit gentoo-stable to see whether your shiny new
package is ready to be marked stable. You find out there are 10 positive votes.
Hmmm, good... 10 working cases and 6 billions broken or is it 10 out of 10?

I hope my bad english was good enough to explain the point... :-)

Thanks for hearing me...
Radek
