This is an e-build for the perl module Unicode::MapUTF8.
Unicode::MapUTF8 allows for conversions to and from arbitrary character sets and
Unicode::MapUTF8 is needed to install LiveJournal (the server, not a client).
This e-build should probably be added as dev-perl/Unicode-MapUTF8.

Currently, we're trying to limit new ebuilds that just fetch from CPAN, in favor
of a planned general solution that would automatically link portage to CPAN. If
things outside of dev-perl depend on this ebuild (like this LiveJournal - is it in
the tree somewhere?), then it might need to be added anyway, but for now, this
ebuild is going to remain on hold.
Does this satsify any dependancies? Perl modules are not added to portage unless they fulfill a dependancy elsewhere. Otherwise, you will need to install the module yourself or wait until there is a working method in place for portage to handle CPAN modules directly.
I am not aware of any in-portage packages that depend on this module. Like bug 19305, this should probably be marked LATER.
Unicode-MapUTF8 is required by >=smbldap-tools-0.9.2.
