Description Dan Lange 2007-06-10 21:11:06 UTC
ipw3945-1.2.1 is hard masked because it is "broken". I can confirm that 1.2.1 works perfectly with an IBM Thinkpad T60p.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Expected Results:
1.2.1 is a development/testing release. It should be keyword masked since it doesn't appear to break anything major.

So unmask it for yourself; it's causing lots of trouble to others.

Comment 2 Matthew Kasa (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-17 06:46:01 UTC
Reopening as 1.2.1 fixes an issue in 1.2.0 that causes a kernel oops when disabling rf_kill, leaving you with an ipw3945 that you cannot bring out of software rf_kill. Should also fix issue reported in bug 168958.

And that will magically make all the issues mentioned in Comment #1 vanish, or what exactly is the reason why this should be unmasked?

Not at all according to the upstream bug.

Hopefully this this will get merged into kernel and this ebuild will vanish from the tree rather sooner than later.
