Hi, bibus-1.3.0 has been out since December 15, 2006 (I've just started using the app myself). Would a version bump be possible? Here's a link to the changelog/release notes: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=471614&group_id=110943 I've tried renaming the ebuild from version 1.2.0. When I try to merge, there is an error about permissions not being correct on the /usr/local/share/bibus directory. Error log is attached. I also was not able to install from source directly due to the paths (bibus tried to install to /share/bibus and I haven't figured out how to tell it to use the right prefix). Sorry about my lack of skills to be able to fix this. There is a report on the forums of bibus-1.3.0 installing fine from source although with a python downgrade (2.4 -> 2.3) but then having some integration problems with OpenOffice.org: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-545922-highlight-bibus.html That's on a 64-bit machine, though. Thanks in advance!

Thank you very much. I tested the ebuild for version 1.3 (including the patch) on amd64 using a sqlite database. Everything works without any problems. I use bibus in combination with OOo for my master thesis on WindowsXP and Gentoo with the same database, style and OOo document on a USB stick. Even the interaction between the two systems works flawlessly. It would be nice to see this ebuild (with ~amd64 keyword added) in portage.
Created attachment 142853 [details] bibus-1.4.0-r1.ebuild Older versions of bibus don't take care of multislot wxwidget installs. So if you upgrade your wxGTK and wxpython to 2.8.7.1, it'll open a new slot and your previous bibus won't start. The workaround would be pretty simple, but upstream has already taken care of this. So I version bumped the ebuild to 1.4. It only required some minor modifications due to the unusual directory name of the packed source code. Test and enjoy!
Created attachment 142854 [details, diff] necessary diff for bibus-1.4.0-r1.ebuild The diff file remained pretty much the same. But I reattach it to make it clear.
If you are using MySQL, be aware of the fact, that the database needs to be extended by one additional table. Check this out before use! Thanks to all for the great work! I've just committed bibus-1.4.0-rc2 to portage since it seems to work fine for me as far as I can tell. Please open a new bug should there be any problems with it. Thanks, Markus
