If I update mozilla-thunderbird it gives the following message: Removing old installs though some really ugly code. It potentially eliminates any problems during the install, however suggestions to replace this are highly welcome. Send comments and suggestions to mozilla@gentoo.org I don't have a suggestion how to replace this, but the message should also contain, that the installation of x11-plugins/enigmail is deleted. It took me a lot of time to discover, why gpg encryption doesn't work anymore in thunderbird.
Erm not really, it's just that the old enigmail won't work w/ current stable TB. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 142466 ***
And why are always all files of the enigmail package removed from my system after an update of mozilla-thunderbird? Especially the files /usr/lib64/mozilla-thunderbird/chrome.d/enigmail /usr/lib64/mozilla-thunderbird/extensions.d/enigmail and the directory /usr/lib64/mozilla-thunderbird/extensions/{847b3a00-7ab1-11d4-8f02-006008948af5} Please have a look at line 124 of /usr/portage/mail-client/mozilla-thunderbird/mozilla-thunderbird-1.5.0.5.ebuild. It reads: rm -rf ${ROOT}${MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME} It seems to me that the complete directory /usr/lib64/mozilla-thunderbird is removed and this also removes all files of enigmail.
