When booting udev echos information that %e is now deprecated. It seems to be located in 50-udev.rules. While this doesn't cause problems, it should probably be removed or replaced with whatever deprecated it. Didn't find a bug report about it, and wasn't sure if it was known or not. Sorry if it was.
known issue...

No, removing a warning isn't wise. Let's fix this properly, we need a way for cdroms to be enumerated like the %e provides us.
Some had suggested using the kernel number %n, but you get strange enumerations. Whereas formerly with %e I would get cdrom and cdrom1 symlinks to hdc and sr0 resp, using %n I get cdrom and cdrom0, etc. Not quite right...

(In reply to comment #1) > known issue... 1. If this is a issue, why mark this bug INVALID ? 2. Where is this issue discussed/tracked ?
I also do not know, why it is RESOLVED INVALID if it is not solved. I have the latest udev-089-r2 installed and the deprecated warning is still there.
