I think I've already warned this some time ago. As of today k3b (0.12.8 for x86 and 0.12.14 for ~x86) still emerges without the k3bmonkeyaudioplugin that is intended to be integral part of the k3b project. In this way k3b looses the ability to manage APE/CUE CD images. In order to have it installed I have done it "the plain old way": 0. wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/k3b/k3bmonkeyaudioplugin-3.0.tar.bz2 1. tar xfj k3bmonkeyaudioplugin-3.0.tar.bz2 2. ln -s /usr/kde/3.5/bin/kde-config /usr/bin 3. cd k3bmonkeyaudioplugin; ./configure 4. make; make install The trick at step #2 is needed because otherwise the configure script cannot find the kde-config program. Modif it with your kde version path. And, of course, everything now works fine with APE/CUE images. Just for the sake of completenetss, find here below the 'emerge --info' output.
