117495 is the only bug that shows when searching on 'poppler xpdf' it does not duplicate IMHO, but may be relevant. I have a brand new install of system (since 1/1/06) on an old Mendecino Celeron box. It uses kernel 2.6.14-Gentoo-r5, X11 6.8.2 and KDE 3.4.3. When attempting an 'emerge --update --deep world' as suggested by the Gentoo Handbook, I got an error message that app-text/xpdf3.01-r4 conflicted with another app that could not be installed on the same system with it. Using --pretend got me the information that the conflict was with app-text/poppler0.4.3-r4. Equery -d says both depend on kde-base/kde-graphics3.4.3-r3 As a new Gentoo user, I'm not sure how to proceed further in attempting to further characterize this bug. (sorry!) ART
