With the help of the new emaint capability in portage I found that my system had the following problem: 'sys-fs/progsreiserfs' has no ebuilds available The version that I am currently using is 0.3.0.4 and was marked ppc (see http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/sys-fs/progsreiserfs/Attic/progsreiserfs-0.3.0.4.ebuild?rev=1.10&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup ). It has been removed by vapier (I believe) and now all versions of this ebuild in the tree are marked ~ppc. This shouldn't happen. Stable ebuild shouldn't be removed from non x86 archs without a proper replacement.
Happy New Year! It's been removed 14 months ago (See Bug 65712). :=) Use sys-fs/reiserfsprogs.
Recycling this bug for punting cruft from portage. Dead upstream, no stable version, nothing in portage depends on this [1], there's sys-fs/reiserfsprogs providing all we need. Please, punt this ebuild. [1] CCing forensics to remove app-admin/testdisk-5.7, it's the only ebuild that depends on this thing (also 5.2 can be punted, x86 and ppc have 5.9 stable, so it's not needed any more).

Eh? parted does not depend on this at all, so I wonder how's it linking against it... :) As I've already stated, the only thing in the whole tree that depends on progsreiserfs is testdisk-5.7.
