Description Joël 2005-12-18 07:15:59 UTC
I have eselect 1.0_rc2, xorg-server 1.0.0 and ati-drivers 8.20.8.

- Running "eselect opengl set xorg-x11" works fine.

- Running "eselect opengl set ati" works fine, but as a side effect, it creates a zero-byte "/usr/lib/libGL.la".

If I keep that zero-byte file, the packages which use libGL will fail with:

libtool: link: `/usr/lib/libGL.la' is not a valid libtool archive

If I delete that file, everything seem to build fine.

Upon further inspection, I see that the file:

/usr/lib/opengl/ati/lib/libGL.la

is zero-byte as well.

Ah, I just found the following bugzilla entry, which mentions an empty libGL.la file installed by ati-drivers:

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112427

Bug still marked as NEW. Sorry this didn't come up in my initial search.
