I'm trying to get KDE working on Gentoo/FreeBSD systems. Unfortunately seems like there are a couple more of things which needs fixes before it can be installed flawlessy. Some of them have been already reported on separed bugreports (see dependencies) but there are a couple of trivial fix needed: - kdm must remove dependency on sys-libs/pam, kdebase-pam takes care of it; - kcheckpass must remove dependency on sys-libs/pam, kdebase-pam takes care of it. At this point, fixed the rest of the bugs, KDE *should* be installable cleanly... I'll continue building and report in case something other came up. Thanks, Diego
Created attachment 59607 [details, diff] kdelibs-3.4.0-kdeui-first.patch This patch is needed to make kdelibs compile clean on Gentoo/FreeBSD. I've checked and rechecked it and I also committed it on KDE's SVN for next version (3.4.1).
Comment on attachment 59607 [details, diff] kdelibs-3.4.0-kdeui-first.patch Sorry wrong file, i should really find a better naming scheme for them.
Created attachment 59610 [details, diff] kdelibs-3.4.0-kdeui-first.patch That's the one with the fixed paths.
I removed the dependencies on sys-libs/pam. The patch will be included in 3.4.1, which is almost released... closing.
... but this is a tracker, so it's better to leave it open :)
Considering KDE working out of the box :)
