i dropped 4.2.1-r2, let's concentrate on stabilizing 4.3.2
i think it would be better to move to 4.4.0-r1, but there are still some unresolved issues
switching the stabilization to 4.4.1, there is only one bug open. though keeping 4.3.2 in the tree as 4.4.1 still has some issues.
Please note that the internal sampler / player is not working in MuseScore 4.4. I've seen Ubuntu users having the same problem. The player / sampler is OK with versions < 4.4
i know about it, i just don't have capacity to fix the issues with the version 4.3.2.

Simply change the audio buffer size to a higher value (I've set it to the max value) and it works. Since Musescore is not real-time, you don't need the smallest possible audio buffer. It works on all my machines, some of them are really old and slow.
