The current ebuild for libreoffice forces the use of ld.lld linker when clang is enabled: if use clang ; then ... LDFLAGS+=" -fuse-ld=lld" If your make.conf is configured to use mold as default linker (see [https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Mold] the LDFLAGS in make.conf is overridden. A switch to enable mold could be beneficial for such a large package.
