Thanks for the report. By the way, I ended up trying a non-unified build to make it easier to reduce, and it helped a bit (~13MB -> 8MB preprocessed, which does make a big difference, especially because if nothing else I could actually compress it to <1MB for bugzilla). I've asked in #gentoo-mozilla on IRC if we could consider exposing --disable-unified-build because this might help a lot with debugging stuff like this, debugging LTO problems as well, and should reduce RAM requirements a bit for building. See https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/build/buildsystem/unified-builds.html. My suggestion would be we have --enable-unified-build w/ USE=+jumbo-build but let people turn it off. Cool find in any case, I had no idea this existed!
