welp.. i changed the ebuild to 2.5.28.1 and removed the patches and it compiles and works without the gui.
forgot to add i'm on amd64.
How did you get around: $ ebuild mldonkey-2.5.28.1.ebuilddigest >>> Generating digest file... <<< mldonkey-2.5.28.1.tar.bz2 <<< ebuild: this ebuild generated output during the depend phase (bad) which happens when there are ebuilds of x.y.z and of w.x.y.z in the same directory? (cp'ing portage@g.o if they can answer my question faster)
Something was sent to stdout while portage was initially sourcing the ebuild.
