Screenshot of dim panel

The panel and search bar are dim/dark.

It just kind of started happening all of a sudden... so it may have been the upgrade to Frameworks 5.45.0, or it may have been something else.

OK, this is a pretty minor bug, but it is annoying the hell out of me.

It may turn out to be misconfiguration, so I apologize in advance if it is.

Whoops, here is the emerge --info output.

Also... the scroll bars on my root Konsole window look strangely dark/black. This started happening at the same time.

I created a new user, same problem.
Comment 4 Jeremy Murphy 2018-04-22 13:32:44 UTC
After looking through my emerge log, I thought to try downgrading mesa back to 17.3 and... voila, bug disappeared!

Hi Jeremy,

There were some recent upstream issues with this. A couple that I can remember are:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105871
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102806

Could you please attach the output of "glxinfo" (from mesa-progs), and let us know the version of xserver you are using?

Thanks!
Sarnex

Aha, definitely sounds like the same issue: I have Intel hardware and probably xorg-server 1.19.5. Anyway, I'll post the exact versions later tonight, cheers.

(In reply to Jeremy Murphy from comment #8)

Hi Jeremy,

Would you be able to test the attached patch with your current xorg-server version and Mesa 18 and see if it indeed fixes the issue?

Thanks,
Sarnex

Hi Nick,

the patch for the xorg server is working for me.

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for trying the patch. I have just pushed xorg-server-1.19.5-r2 which includes this patch. Please use it until we can stabilize.

Stable everywhere except hppa. Marking fixed.
