You can help the maintainer with further information:
Does a simple bump [1] work on your system? 
Chances are high, because a first look on the bump revealed only small changes [2].

I joined the Graphics Project today and started to tidy up things around inkscape. I want to fix some bugs first, so that they do not get in the new ebuild. 

You can help to improve the inkscape support by preparing more information for the developers in one of the bugs:

Some of them need further research which could be done by everybody.
