Whenever I start gnucash I get the messages you can see by the provided URL. I believe the problem is that I do not have GNOME installed, but just some libraries. I have the following in my ~/.gconf.path: <START> ######## The following lines were added by GnuCash. ######## xml:readwrite:$(HOME)/.gconf xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults ############## End of lines added by GnuCash. ############## <END> Whenever I run the setup I will get the following lines appended: <START> ######## The following lines were added by GnuCash. ######## xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults ############## End of lines added by GnuCash. ############## <END> I'm sorry to say that I'm not so familiar with GNOME and do not fully understand this bug, so you need to guide me to whatever additional information you may need.
May depend on bug #165060 , bug #143012 , bug #164974 and block bug #163921 ?
Same thing for me with 2.0.5 on guile-1.6.8. I'm running KDE. Tom Fredrik Blenning Klaussen, that URL is now dead BTW. Please attach if possible.
(In reply to comment #2) > Tom Fredrik Blenning Klaussen, that URL is now dead BTW. Please attach if > possible. Sorry, to many problems with changing ISP, my new ISP for some reason decided to block incoming connections. They are hereby ditched, and the URL is working again.
I've tested 2.0.1 and 2.0.5. Bug is present only in 2.0.5. It seems that gnucash entries are not inserted into /etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults/%gconf-tree*.xml files by gnucash-2.0.5 ebuild. The bug appears only if gnucash-2.0.5 is emerged first time (not upgraded from 2.0.1). After downgrade to 2.0.1 and then upgrade to 2.0.5, problem disappears.
BTW, I've tried to install and run unofficial gnucash-2.1.1 (ebuild http://svn.gnucash.org/repo/gnucash/trunk/packaging/gnucash-2.1.x.ebuild from http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=174967) and it has the same problem with gconf default values.
If this is not fixed if you install gnucash-2.2.1-r1, reopen the bug, please. Thanks
Yeah, with Gnucash 2.2.1-r1 I have no problems with gconf. Thank you.
