Any idea why it was unmasked despite that the bugs blocking it are still opened?

Because glibc 2.16 has been unmasked as well, and this was all slated together, and because upstream is moving on not supporting version 2.

Now it's time to actually get stuff fixed.

Diego, can you explain what you mean by that?  I don't know if you are talking to other devs or to us users/lusers who are filing the bug reports :)

It's for people to file bugs. This as a tracker _shouldn't have any discussion at all_ to begin with.
