Created attachment 385772 [details] config.log Hello, When trying to emerge net-libs/gnutls-3.3.7 to net-libs/gnutls-3.3.8 with mutlilibs feature (add abi_x86_32 on amd64 system), Portage will fails with this error output: * The ebuild phase 'configure' with pid <pid> appears to have left an * orphan process running in the background. Steps to reproduce: 1. Unmask abi_x86_32 USE flag through /etc/portage/profile/use.mask (echo '-abi_x86_32' >> /etc/portage/profile/use.mask) 2. add abi_x86_32 USE flag to net-libs/gnutls though /etc/portage/package.use 3. emerge net-libs/gnutls. Reproducibility: test with versions 3.3.7 to 3.3.8 As requested in the build.log, here in attachment the file config.log Thanks for support. PS: In the build.log, I noticed the following error: *** Libhogweed (nettle's companion library) was not found. Note that you must compile nettle with gmp support. But I currently have dev-libs/nettle-2.7.1-r1[abi_x86_32] and dev-libs/gmp-5.1.3-r1[abi_x86_32], should _we_ fill another bug report about it?

Hello, Well, in fact, I did a rebuild by my own, even after revdep-rebuild found nothing, of packages sys-apps/sandbox and dev-libs/nettle, and after this, net-libs/gnutls worked. Well, I don't understand why this was failing before. Sorry for the noise.
Ok, I found my issue: sys-apps/portage-2.2.13 … I am currently recompiling packages during this version was on my system, I am sure it will fix other bugs I got recently. (and maybe I will just stay stable for portage) Sorry for the noise, again.
