Description Diego Chantrain 2005-07-20 00:35:35 UTC
Ever since I upgraded to ipw2100 1.1.0 and gentoo-sources-2.6.12-r? my wireless
card has stopped working. It fails to obtain an ip address from dhcp, on
different AP's. With ipw2100-1.1.2-r1 the problem is still present. Here is the
/var/log/messages output when trying to connect using the wireless card:

Jul 20 09:26:11 rat-trap ifplugd(eth1)[11771]: Executing
'/usr/sbin/ifplugd.action eth1 up'.
Jul 20 09:26:14 rat-trap eth1: No xmit handler.
Jul 20 09:26:19 rat-trap eth1: No xmit handler.
Jul 20 09:26:27 rat-trap eth1: No xmit handler.
Jul 20 09:26:29 rat-trap eth1: No xmit handler.
Jul 20 09:26:34 rat-trap eth1: No xmit handler.
Jul 20 09:26:42 rat-trap eth1: No xmit handler.
Jul 20 09:26:44 rat-trap dhcpcd[15432]: timed out waiting for a valid DHCP
server response

I am using gentoo-sources-2.6.12-r4, ipw2100-1.1.2-r1 and ieee80211-1.0.3. The
modules are all loaded. Here's the lsmod output:

Please try running `module-rebuild rebuild` for re-installing external kernel
modules (you may have to run `emerge -av module-rebuild` first).

Then reboot to make sure all modules in question are reloaded - and check if
this problem still exists.
