Description David Held 2005-07-15 09:01:52 UTC
The apache2 ebuild always uses /var/www as the suexec document root. A different
setting may well be desired if websites are stored in a different location.

It would be nice if exporting an environment variable before emerging apache
could solve this problem. Currently, one needs to manually modify the ebuild and
rebuild the digest files in order to change it. This can easily be neglected
when apache is rebuilt as part of an update, leaving a non-functioning system.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

It's not only apache, the whole bunch of webapp ebuilds (still) have this path
hardcoded afaik.

Stuart: I'm aware the request is not new, but couldn't find a relevant bug...
