Description Karl Abbott 2002-10-28 11:27:17 UTC
This is an ebuild to build Evolution 1.2 beta (1.1.2). Matt Schick submitted
this a few days ago, and had everything working except for pda users. This
build corrects that and includes the updated pilot-link that I submitted the
other day. You will have to untar this whole thing to get all of the new
builds, but at least they are all together. This has been posted to the
forums, and it would be nice to see this end up in the portage tree. Again,
this is merely a hack of Matt Schick's ebuild that he submitted a few days
back.

A tar package of all the new ebuilds needed for Evolution 1.1.2

This is a tar file containing the required soap, gal, gtkhtml, pilot-link and
evolution. When building, you will also need to unmask the new gnome-spell-0.5
that is in portage.

Sorry...the first tar file I posted was last night's version. I have since
refined the ebuild, please grab the second file that says "Download this
instead--Evolution 1.1.2 package"

**Official** Evolution 1.1.2 Package

Since I can't edit my attachments and thus remove them, I am now on my third
attachment. I accidentally uploaded the last one as a patch instead of as a tar
file. Would someone please remove the first two attachments for me? You will
need the third "**Official** Evolution 1.1.2 Package". I am quite annoyed that
I can't remove files that I've posted, but oh well. Please forgive me for
posting all sorts of crazy stuff. The latest version of this build will be
available at http://www.99b.org/ec/evolution.tar

i am already working on the pilot-link-0.11.5 ... in otherwords, dont use the
pilot-link ebuild from this tbz2
Comment 5 Karl Abbott 2002-10-28 11:44:53 UTC
If you'd like, take a look at the one in this package. It's simply just a
patch on the other pilot-link build and it works perfectly fine for me. Just a
thought since this one is already done.
Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2002-10-28 12:11:03 UTC
i did look at it, it was merely a copy from the previous ebuild

mine is a complete rework since the current one doesnt respect USE options
Comment 7 Karl Abbott 2002-10-28 12:12:15 UTC
sounds good...thanks for doing a complete rework :) It all helps make gentoo
better :)

I got the following problem with this ebuild: When I start evolution it hangs
immediately after I select any message to read. The output in the console reads:

 ** WARNING **: Invalid UTF-8 sequence

The only way to get it to work for me is by doing an

export LANG=xxx

xxx can be replaced by anything else, as long as it is no existing language
variable (normally I got it set to de_DE)

My system is Gentoo 1.2, gcc 2.95.3, glibc 2.2.5-r7
