Hi, I would like to see this program back in the portage tree. The program is a linux port of the very popular windows program FTD. FTD stands for Full Thread Database and is a binary usenet index system. I'm using this program almost 2 years now, and I think it's time for an ebuild right now. Also a few gentoo users requested this ebuild. I have tested this ebuild with x86 and amd64 by different users. Greets, Yosh de Vos

1/ RESTRICT="nomirror" - why? 2/ You should consider using mozilla and firefox use flags for selecting between those two dependencies. 3/ Empty RDEPEND is redundant. 4/ What is that horrible cat stuff in src_install() supposed to do? Is that some wrapper script which is not distributed w/ the tarball? Then attach it separately so that it can be put into ${FILESDIR} and fix the ebuild accordingly. Please, attach a fixed ebuild (and the script of needed) and reopen then.
Ok, I modified the ebuild as requested. The wrapper is excluded from the ebuild and now exists as a separated file in files. Accept keywords is still defined as: KEYWORDS="~amd64 ~x86" But I think this program is enough tested with this architects to be noted as stable. Greets, Yosh

I have no replies since my last reaction. So now I have changed the status, maybe someone will notice this ebuild request.

- Last news updates on that site are from late 2009. - Last bug response from late 2010, 25% of the bugs are left open. - Not widely used: Dutch, illegal content, and so on... Unless upstream (which seems dead to me) decides to pick this up again, I don't think it is a benefit to anyone that we add this to the Portage tree; if someone still wants this, I think an user overlay would do the job.
