I would like to request a version bump of swig. Version 1.3.24 is out, it is mainly a bug fix release over 1.3.23. By the way, 1.3.23 is hard-masked. Is there a reason for this? Well, I know there must be :-) Is there a problem with it, that I should be aware of? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Huh? $ grep -C2 swig /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask # This Swig version breaks a lot of stuff, since it doesn't # provide the runtime libraries =dev-lang/swig-1.3.24
I could have sworn that it was version 1.3.23 that I installed yesterday - maybe I need new glasses :-) Regarding the runtime library: it apparently became obsolete, one should just use the right flags to swig, then it is built into one of the modules. I do not know the details, since I have not used it. /Jakob PS. Version 1.3.25 is out - but they have apparently forgotten to announce it on their main page.
