Here's an ebuild submission for Neverwinter Nights 1.66. As far as I know, there doesnt seem to be any issues with the patch, so all I've done is to copy the old ebuild and renaming it to correspond to the right version number. Any feedback appreciated!

I had that problem too. Downloading the files manually and renaming them to the filename specified in the ebuild, the installation was successful. The only thing that does not work is the nwn command. I better describe it like this: You cannot simply type "nwn" to play the game. You have to do " cd /opt/nwn ./nwn " to run the game. But then, version 1.66.8074 works.
Sorry for not responding before now. I've briefly looked at the problems you both had, and I think that I at least figured out one of them. As far as downloading the right files, it seems that Bioware has changed the file naming scheme, and that's probably what got it broken. As to executing NWN without going to the install directory, I'm not sure what the problem might be. Last time I had NWN installed, it seemed to work perfectly well. The first thought that struck me though, was if your user was in the 'games' group. So if he's not, you might try that out. If it still doesn't work, I'd appreciate you (Martin Hoffmann) report back. My solution (to the file download) is a patch that I've made, which I think works, but can't say for sure. This is also the first time I've ever made a patch file, so if it's in the wrong format or if something else is wrong, please report back and I'll try to see what I can do about it.

Created attachment 65160 [details] digest sorry seems mirror for english was a bit screwed. I have tested all others and they are fine.

Created attachment 65221 [details, diff] updated patch to fix download file naming scheme Thanks for noticing that typo Jory A. Pratt. I've supplied an updated patch to fix the issue.
Created attachment 66003 [details, diff] patch with corrected filenames (as above) plus localized audio Corrected a typo in the old patch (this would not download the italian dialog) and added support for the localized audio. Maybe the info message "To download nwgerman129.tar.gz [...]" can be omitted/should be elsewhere (changed to manual download). Tested with LINGUAS=en and LINGUAS=de
Worked for me.
Added to CVS with some additional mirrors for nwresources129.tar.gz
