I tried to emerge libstdc++-v3-3.3.4 inside the chroot of a stage3, uclibc-based install. The emerge failed with the following message, I'm not 100% sure where in there the error starts, so here is what I could copy from the terminal buffer: stdc++-v3/libmath -O2 -pipe -march=athlon-xp -D_GNU_SOURCE -fno-implicit-templates -Wall -Wno-format -W -Wwrite-str ings -fdiagnostics-show-location=once -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections -c /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/wo rk/gcc-3.3.4/libstdc++-v3/src/ext-inst.cc -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/ext-inst.o In file included from /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/gcc-3.3.4/libstdc++-v3/src/ctype.cc:36: /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/include/i386-gentoo-linux-ucli bc/bits/ctype_noninline.h: In constructor `std::ctype<char>::ctype(int*, const short unsigned int*, bool, unsigned int)': /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/include/i386-gentoo-linux-ucli bc/bits/ctype_noninline.h:84: error: cannot convert `const __ctype_touplow_t*' to `const int*' in assignment /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/include/i386-gentoo-linux-ucli bc/bits/ctype_noninline.h:85: error: cannot convert `const __ctype_touplow_t*' to `const int*' in assignment /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/include/i386-gentoo-linux-ucli bc/bits/ctype_noninline.h: In constructor `std::ctype<char>::ctype(const short unsigned int*, bool, unsigned int)': /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/include/i386-gentoo-linux-ucli bc/bits/ctype_noninline.h:114: error: cannot convert `const __ctype_touplow_t*' to `const int*' in assignment /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/include/i386-gentoo-linux-ucli bc/bits/ctype_noninline.h:115: error: cannot convert `const __ctype_touplow_t*' to `const int*' in assignment make[3]: *** [ctype.lo] Error 1 make[3]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/gcc/xgcc -shared-libgcc -B/var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/b uild/gcc/ -nostdinc++ -L/var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/src -L /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/src/.libs -B/usr/i386-gentoo-l inux-uclibc/bin/ -B/usr/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/lib/ -isystem /usr/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/include -nostdinc++ -I /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/include/i386-gentoo-linux-ucli bc -I/var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/include -I/var/tmp/portag e/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/gcc-3.3.4/libstdc++-v3/libsupc++ -I/var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/gcc-3.3.4/lib stdc++-v3/libmath -O2 -pipe -march=athlon-xp -D_GNU_SOURCE -fno-implicit-templates -Wall -Wno-format -W -Wwrite-str ings -fdiagnostics-show-location=once -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections -c /var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/wo rk/gcc-3.3.4/libstdc++-v3/src/ext-inst.cc -o ext-inst.o >/dev/null 2>&1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3/sr c' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3' make[1]: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4/work/build/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc/libstdc++-v3' make: *** [all-target-libstdc++-v3] Error 2 !!!
