WSJTX-2.7.0_rc4 which is prerelease candidate appears to have a time bomb and now gives an error indicating: "This is a pre-release version of WSJT-X 2.7 made available for testing purposes. By design it will be nonfunctional after October 30, 2024." The program seems to still be somewhat functional except if one hits the OK button it will abruptly close the program. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set date after October 30, 2024 2. Run WSJTX-2.7.0_RC4 3. Actual Results: A dialog box shows up indicating expired software. Expected Results: Program should run without giving such error boxes... It appears RC7 is out and probably needs to be version bumped.
I tried building rc7, it builds fine, and appears to be functional. This one will expire Jan 15 2025. The same ebuild as the rc4 version can be used, except this patch fails to apply - ${FILESDIR}/${P}-fix_NFFT.patch" It appears they fixed it upstream and this patch is no longer needed.
RC7 now time bombed/expired Jan 15 2025. RC8 appears to build and decode, I have not tried transmitting with it. It will expire Sept 30 2025.

I just found time to update it to rc8. Transmitting seems to work as expected. Let us hope that a final version comes out soon.
