It seems after an upgrade to version 0.35_rc1 of gdesklets-core, hypertail stops working... If one starts up the desklet after the upgrade gdesklets starts using 100% CPU and hypertail just hangs... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Upgrade to version 0.35_rc1 of gdesklets-core 2. Install desklet-hypertail 3. Start gdesklets and from there start hypertail 4. See your cpu have fun ;) Actual Results: Hypertail stops working, and gdesklets hogs the CPU Expected Results: Hypertail should have continued working as it did before the upgrade of gdesklets-core # emerge info Portage 2.0.51.22-r1 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.4.3-20050110, glibc-2.3.5-r0, 2.6.11-gentoo-r8 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.11-gentoo-r8 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) processor Gentoo Base System version 1.6.12 distcc 2.18.3 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] dev-lang/python: 2.2.3-r6, 2.3.5 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.8 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.5 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.18 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-tbird -O2 -pipe -frename-registers -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/texmf/web2c /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-tbird -O2 -pipe -frename-registers -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.du.se/pub/os/gentoo ftp://mirror.pudas.net/gentoo" LANG="en_US.iso88591" LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1 -Wl,--enable-new-dtags -Wl,-z,combreloc -Wl,--sort-common" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 3dnow 3dnowext S3TC X acpi acpi4linux alsa apache2 apm avi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts bmp cdr crypt cscope curl dga dillo dvd dvdr eds emboss encode f am ffmpeg firebird flac foomaticdb freetype gd gdbm gif glut gpm gtk gtk2 imagemagick imlib imlib2 javascript jikes jpeg junit lcms libg++ libwww live mad mailwrapper m atroska mbox md5sum mikmod mmx mmxext moznocompose moznoirc moznomail mozsvg mp3 mpeg mpi mysql nas ncurses network nowin nptl nptlonly offensive ogg oggvorbis openal o pengl openssh oss pam pdflib perl pic png postgres python qt readline rtc ruby samba sdl slang spell sqlite ssl stencil-buffer stream tcltk tcpd tetex tiff truetype tru etype-fonts type1 type1-fonts vorbis wmf wxwindows xface xine xml2 xmms xv xvid zlib video_cards_radeon userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LC_ALL, LINGUAS
This is an upstream bug with the desklet itself. Was it working well with 0.34.3?
Yup (if that was the latest ~x86 version at the time). Have reinstalled my system since the date of this bug's birth, so I can't really know if that was the exact version... Sorry =\
