Description Matthias May 2005-05-17 02:37:31 UTC
i followed the handbook's instructions installing my gentoo with a 2.6 kernel.
but my first boot failed, my harddisk couldn't be mounted.
i fixed it by adding devfs=nomount gentoo=udev to my grub.conf .

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.install gentoo using 2.6 kernel
2.configure the kernel without genkernel
3.

Actual Results:
my harddisk could not be mounted, boot failed

Expected Results:
add devfs=nomount gentoo=udev to my grub.conf

Was it with genkernel-generated kernel, or manually built?
