With a nromal emerge, zoneminder-0.9.12 lacks a lot of its source-provided installation files, including: - zmconfig.pl - the entire db scripts directory Aditionally, I am not seeing any kind of Gentoo-specific documentation on why this is so, or how to solve it. I read some of the sources, and ended up: - changing the apache users' home dir to /var/www/lcoalhost - unmerging and remerging zoneminder to install there - creating the zoneminder database - removing all the error-producing quabble from the sql schema file and importing that into the db - editing the zmconfig.php file to point to the right user and db And that seems to do it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge zoneminder 2. compare "equery f zoneminder" with the contents of the upstream zm-0.9.12 package Actual Results: Half the upstream-provided content is missing. Expected Results: At the very least, some gentoo ebuild info on how to set it up.

Please, have a look at those other open bugs (search for "ALL zoneminder") and post your suggestions/comments/ebuilds ;-) to the bug that you find most appropriate for this. Thanks.
And .. where is this a duplicate ? None of the other zoneminder bugs (5 to date including mine) mention anything about the post-installation setup of the database, or the omission of the zmconfig script.

>None of the other zoneminder bugs ... mention anything about the post-installation setup of the database, or the omission of the zmconfig script. Comment #3: This should be done via webapp-config (ideally, _if_ this ebuild ever gets converted to a webapp). Reopen if you want but that really won

Reopen if you want but that really won´t be useful, just yet another open bug that I even can´t assign in fact, as this package lacks a maintainer.
