amd64 done
Comment 2 Karlson2k 2024-01-24 13:07:53 UTC
On my PC (AMD64) this version results in sporadic connection lost. Only reboot can restore connection.
Reverting to previous version (net-misc/r8168) brings back connection to stable.
Comment 3 Karlson2k 2024-01-24 13:08:33 UTC
Previous version = 8.051.02-r1

I'm working on reverting stabilization for this. Can you please open a separate bug and mark it as a blocker to this one?

Maintainer needs to investigate the issue reported above.

I have only remote access currently to my Gentoo PCs. Obviously I cannot experiment with the driver to get any valuable details. :)

I cannot reproduce that issue

But I saw the creation of this in Arch linux:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/r8168-8136

maybe there is an issue with some devices ... I don't know

In any case, I am not sure about how to report this to upstream, they don't have a bug tracker or similar
