with the ebuild which in portage it is not possible to use tse3 library with alsa 1.0.x
Created attachment 58189 [details, diff] tse3-0.2.7.ebuild.patch this is the patch for 0.2.7 ebuild which adds patching with http://download.berlios.de/noteedit/tse3-patches-1.tar.gz which includes gcc-3.4 patch (now in {FILESDIR})+ alsa 1.0 patch + some cosmetic changes for ebuild ...
Two things: - the ebuild patch didn't work for me. - in the tar.gz are 2 patches, one for alsa and one for gcc3.4, and the one for gcc3.4 was already in my tse3/files directory So I simply extracted the 2 patch files and modified the original ebuild so that it takes the alsa patch into account. Now everything works fine.
seems to be solved, closing
This bug is resolved but not fixed! Anton's modification does indeed solve the problem, but the change was never made to the ebuild in the tree. As a result, Noteedit is unusable. I applied Anton's patches and now it works. Please fix the bug.
I agree! I had to apply manually the patch too! And given the high number of messages on the forums on Noteedit and tse3.... why this patch has not been applied yet? It must be applied! (maybe, a different one since this patch requires a libtool-ize and aclocal to be run on the source code again before emerging)
Reopening until I have time to have a look at it as alsa patch doesnt seem to be there.
Is that solved if you upgrade to 0.3.1? this version includes the alsa patch, perhaps stable version is simply outdated.
Upgradig to 0.3.1 fully solves the problem! yes, it is working perfectly!
And 0.3.1 is now stable.
