Emerging the 0.4.0 of wpa-supplicant in association with the ipw2200 1.0.3 drivers, cause a ioctl[SIOCSIWPMKSA]: Operation not supported error. Receiving similar error with madwifi-0.1_pre20050420 and baselayout-1.11.9-r1, although with different results. iwconfig shows that ath0 properly associates with the desired AP, properly connect, but will continue to cycle through all other channels and wpa_supplicant.conf entries despite the fact. Manually setting the network channel stopped channel cycling, but it continued to cycle between the desired AP and blank-ESSID. $ uname -a Linux fuu 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 #1 Thu Apr 14 10:24:34 PDT 2005 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1700MHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux $ emerge info Portage 2.0.51.19 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.4.3-20050110, glibc-2.3.4.20041102-r1, 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1700MHz Gentoo Base System version 1.6.9 Python: dev-lang/python-2.3.4-r1 [2.3.4 (#1, Feb 20 2005, 15:44:15)] distcc 2.16 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [enabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.4-r1 sys-apps/sandbox: [Not Present] sys-devel/autoconf: 2.59-r6, 2.13 sys-devel/automake: 1.8.5-r3, 1.5, 1.4_p6, 1.6.3, 1.7.9, 1.9.4 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r7 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.14 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.8.1-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium-m -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium-m -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distcc distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://modzer0.cs.uaf.edu/public/gentoo/ http://gentoo.asgn.ca/" LANG="en_CA.UTF-8" MAKEOPTS="-j6" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://sui/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X aalib acpi alsa apm avi berkdb bitmap-fonts c++ cdr cjk crypt cups curl dvd emboss encode esd foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif gpm gtk gtk2 guile imagemagick imlib ipv6 java jpeg junit libg++ libwww mad mikmod mmx motif mp3 mpeg ncurses nls nptl nptlonly ogg oggvorbis opengl pam pcmcia pdflib perl png python quicktime readline real samba sdl slang spell sse sse2 ssl svga tcpd tetex tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts unicode usb vorbis xml xml2 xmms xosd xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux libc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CBUILD, CTARGET, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY Again, version 0.3.8 does not have this problem.
