upstream apparently changed the format to enable ipv6 for gdm in the configure code it looks like its --enable-enable-ipv6 or --disable-enable-ipv6 changing to this format tho didnt work i finally just added a sed line after the epatch item to change enable_ipv6=no to =yes in configure as a work around so far thats the only way ive found to enable ipv6 again with this version of gdm
the config looks just fine to me, --enable-ipv6 should work just fine. Could you please provide your 'emerge info' & further evidence to back up your claims ?

confirmed I think it's not the switch itself that is broken, we should check and see if configure.in has changed between 2.6.0.7 & .9 .
It was the switch after all, a mistake. Fixed in 2.6.0.9-r{2,3} Thanks for the report.
