When looking into https://bugs.gentoo.org/734516 I noticed that /usr/share/myspell is populated when different dictionaries are installed... but if no dict is present... we cannot assume the directory is around. I think that the easiest and cleanest way to go would be to simply own that parent /usr/share/myspell by app-text/hunspell Thanks a lot
