Comment 8 David Carlos Manuelda 2023-06-08 07:56:05 UTC
It seems that the dependency dev-cpp/gtest is needed regardless if tests are going to be build or not because this file includes it unconditionally:

src/framework/global/logremover.h:25:#include <gtest/gtest_prod.h>

Maybe fix the ebuild to include gtest dependency unconditionally?
Comment 9 Christian Becker 2023-06-10 16:55:34 UTC
Confirming that it builds fine when gtest is installed.
Comment 10 Silvio 2023-06-11 09:58:29 UTC
I confirm, too. With gtest it compiles well.
Comment 11 Adrian Schollmeyer 2023-06-11 19:08:02 UTC
Has anyone tested if GTest can be safely removed after building? It might be the cases that the source code uses a few GTest macros to make the code easier to test, while avoiding a hard dependency on GTest at runtime.
Comment 12 Adrian Schollmeyer 2023-06-13 16:15:23 UTC
I have reproduced the issue with ebuildtester as well. Now the question remains whether gtest is required at runtime as well (which I hope it does not). Has anyone tried to unmerge gtest after installing MuseScore?

    media-sound/musescore: add missing dependencies

The dependency on GTest seems to be only at build time, probably due to
a few macros to make the code easier to test. The software is not linked
against GTest, so it can be safely removed after installation.
