This is an ebuild for the OpenLDAP 2.1.x series for supporting SASLv2. The ebuild script is nearly identical to the OpenLDAP 2.0.x ebuild, with only the required versions of SASL and Berkeley DB changed. This should go with the other OpenLDAP ebuilds in net-nds/openldap -David
Created attachment 4581 [details] openldap-2.1.5.ebuild (New Package for OpenLDAP 2.1.x series)
db4 is not available to the general public of gentoo yet so I have been holding off updating to this version. Although it does seem to be stable and backwards compatible enough... Have you tested this on gcc2? gcc3? both? Let me know.
I have not tested db4 with gcc2, but I have had no problems with it using gcc3. Of the three machines I'm currently working with, (Intel PII, Intel P4, and AMD Athlon), none have had any problems with db4 and gcc3. I regretfully do not have a Gentoo machine with gcc2 still on it. However, I do have another Linux machine using db4 and gcc2 and it has not experienced any problems.
Also tied with this new build of OpenLDAP is a new release of cyrus-sasl (version 2.1.8) which also depends on db4. It looks like we are starting to gather a group of programs looking for db4. I will find out when an expected move can be made to it. I will post here after I have gotten more information.
OpenLDAP-2.1.6 is available and Samba 2.2.6 has a OpenLDAP-2.1.6 dependancy... it's getting more critical to upgrade :) DB4! DB4! DB4! Builds will be in portage within the next couple of days. What this bug for more info.
Yes I haven't gotten to it yet... I'm sorry... I'll get to it this week. I promise... it is next on my list but now I must sleep.
openldap-2.0.27 has been added to portage with some good updates. openldap-2.1.8 has also been added to portage. Please let me know if you use one or either of them and how it goes.
OpenLDAP-2.1.9 is now in portage as well.
