Description Richard Ash 2005-04-18 06:11:12 UTC
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5-20050130/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot open output file ../unxlngi4.pro/lib/libsvx645li.so: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
dmake: Error code 1, while making '../unxlngi4.pro/lib/libsvx645li.so'
---* TG_SLO.MK *---

ERROR: Error 65280 occurred while making /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-1.1.4-r1/work/svx/util

The last ~1000 lines of compiler output can be found here, including the massive ld command that failed:
http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~raa110/software/openofficefail.txt
(It's 47kb, so I wasn't posting all of it)

The error is right, in that the directory /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-1.1.4-r1/work/svx/unxlngi4.pro/lib/
doesn't exist.

I've just created it and resumed the emerge (FEATURES="keepwork"), where upon it worked it's way back to exactly the same place. The directory I created has now dispeared again.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
emerge openoffice on 2005.0 system, ARCH="x86", portage synced today (18/04/2005)

Actual Results:
Source unpacks and configures sucessfully, and starts to compile.
Eventually will halt with the error above.

Expected Results:
completed the ebuild and merge the package

Free space:

df -h /var/
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdd7 4.1G 3.0G 1.1G 74% /var
with the whole tree unpacked and part compiled, so hasn't run out of space yet.
1.1.4 and 1.1.3 both compiled fine on the same system.

Try to lower your CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS to something more generic. Also there are reported problems with userpriv and usersandbox in regards to OOo so this also could be the culprit here
Comment 3 Richard Ash 2005-05-13 05:57:08 UTC
Sorry for the delay responding. The problem seems to have resolved itself a few days later with a re-synced portage tree, as OpenOffice then built fine and has worked fine since. I presume some fix was committed to the ebuild which fixed the problem.

Thanks for reporting back, closing
