This just released, it makes bug 8501 obsolete. Digest file isn't included.

centericq 4.8.6 is already out now. Just copy'ing this ebuild to the new
version does not work though (it doesn't find ncurses then). Can someone check
this?

I emailed the upstream author. I think configure is using gcc instead of g++
for the test.

Appears the CVS version of the package will work.... Should we wait for an
official version?
Comment 5 Tom Ribbens 2002-11-04 06:56:44 UTC
4.8.7 is out now, but this ebuild copied still doesn't work because it errors
on glib on my pc. Can somebody verify this?
Comment 6 Tyler Lund 2002-11-05 11:29:24 UTC
Same here. The configure script cannot seem to find glib:

checking for glib-config... /usr/bin/glib-config
checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.0... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for
the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB was incorrectly
installed
*** or that you have moved GLIB since it was installed. In the latter case,
you
*** may want to edit the glib-config script: /usr/bin/glib-config
configure: error: glib is required in order to compile centericq - download
it from ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk

tlund@gozer tlund $ glib-config --version
1.2.10

There are other, non-Gentoo, users experiencing the same problem, and it has
been mentioned on the centericq mailing list. It probably won't take too long
before it is fixed.
