Someone in the latter bug (2.) does mention https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/commit/2f9f097cb8b6c27a7e0d7a916e6911fc1f5ecd81 fixes it...

I just tested, that commit is right on the money and does the trick perfectly. $ rustc --version --verbose rustc 1.67.1 (d5a82bbd2 2023-02-07) (gentoo) binary: rustc commit-hash: d5a82bbd26e1ad8b7401f6a718a9c57c96905483 commit-date: 2023-02-07 host: sparc64-unknown-linux-gnu release: 1.67.1 LLVM version: 15.0.7 Will try and work my way up to current rust now.
since this commit is in 1.68.0 already I guess we only need it in 1.67.1 and create missing -bin tarballs. I'll try adding/testing it on 1.67.1 asap too on catbus.
