Originally this program is called "inotify-glib" and could be used to track filesystem activity via /dev/inotify. Looks quite sensible to have it for security-related stuff. I renamed the program to have some sense in it. So I guess inotify-track is more sensible than inotify-glib.

have a look at inotify-tools (see bug #142189)
FYI, =sys-fs/inotify-tools-2.2 is in portage now (~x86).
inotify-tools does the job.
