Make exit with an error 123. (I try two time to compile : yesturday and today with an emerge sync before)
See ccJl0OkE.out in attached piece.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =media-gfx/gimp-print-5.0.0_beta3
2. emerge =media-gfx/gimp-2.2.6
3.

How about USE="gimpprint" emerge =gimp-2.2.6?
Comment 3 Poggi Jérôme 2005-04-18 01:20:52 UTC
I already use USE=gimpprint
Comment 4 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-18 05:40:00 UTC
You'll need to attach a full build log here so we can see where/why it's actually failing.
Comment 5 Poggi Jérôme 2005-04-18 06:30:22 UTC
Hmmm, i didn't have seen before, but it's more an GCC bug report, because the real error is :
gimpbrushcore.c:1248: internal compiler error: in try_split, at emit-rtl.c:3343

see in attachement the compilation of gimp 2.2.6 with gimprint 5.0.0-beta3 and 4.2.7

Comment 9 Poggi Jérôme 2005-04-18 07:00:44 UTC
same error with FEATURES="-ccache" MAKEOPTS=-j1.
I had try with vanilla profile of gcc and it's also same error.
Comment 10 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-18 09:00:30 UTC
Okay, well it looks like a gcc problem then, the Gimp seems to bring these out. Clearly gimpprint is unrelated.

Why don't you try recompiling gcc with USE="-pic" and then remerging the Gimp. You don't have dodgy memory or anything? Internal compiler errors hint at something in your local setup that's awry, not the software being compiled (ie the Gimp).

Comment 11 Poggi Jérôme 2005-04-19 00:39:03 UTC
My memory is ok, I use memtest86, and the error is always on the same file. The luck that it's a memory problem is very low.
I'll try the use of a gcc with -pic
