All sanity-check issues have been resolved

The released kimageformats 5.99 is not absolutely perfect.

There are various thing we are fixing after this release.
For example it will break with newest libavif 0.11.0, which is not in Genetoo yet.
We fixed an another bug related to AVIF.
We are going to fix another bug in JXL plug-in.

Chnages related to HEIF and Fixes for sequential devices (affects multiple formats) were added after release.

kimageformats 5.100 will be much better.

I am worried that kimageformats 5.99 would stay as stable in Gentoo for a longer time.

We'll see how much we can backport, AVIF performance fixes are already in -r1.

1) FEATURES=' test' failed for =kde-frameworks/ki18n-5.99.0

2) extra-cmake-modules-5.99.0 with USE= doc enabled has a BDEPEND on dev-python/sphinx

Upgrading from stable kde-frameworks 5.96 was too complex for my default emerge settings. It worked with --backtrack=30 as recommended in the error message. So this a nuisance that every kde user will encounter.

Are there any means to give some hints to emerge, e. g. blocking the 5.96 packages individually? A portage news item might also be helpful.

I got a lot of dependencies to the old versions like this one:
