Smtpmap is one of the best SMTP fingerprinter and also POP and FTP fingerprinter. It got his own configure script and it support only one option --prefix=/usr. There's probably something to do for the optimization FLAGS but I'm to noob... However, the program should compile fine with this ebuild. Thanks in advance, Michael Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

Created attachment 55346 [details] smtpmap-build-error.txt Posting this mainly for myself (so I can come back and look at it once I have the time). Looks like it needs some gcc loving. Builds fine with gcc-3.3.x but not gcc-3.4.x or gcc-4.
URL is not more reachable. There a mirror at packetstorm : http://packetstormsecurity.org/UNIX/scanners/smtpmap-0.8-beta.tar.gz
Better late than never, i made a patch to fix the compilation on gcc 3.4 and updated the ebuild. I don't have gcc 4.x but i'll try to install it tomorrow maybe...

Compile and works with gcc 4.1.1
Hey Michael, I did try it out and it seems to be a nice little program. Without an active upstream I see the signatures getting out of date and the code creep of gcc/glibc causing troubles for us in the future. If it starts developing again I'd be keen to include it but for now the team is struggling with the other 42 bugs open. From URL: "SMTPMAP Currently, smtpmap is dead. As nmap does a quite ok job, that seems to fit the needs of most of the users, smtpmap will not be developed anymore, unless there is enough public demand."

At least, it will be available with the patches for ppl needing it. Cheers
