Description Daniel 'Fremen' Llewellyn 2005-03-23 09:17:14 UTC
After running an emerge -uD world and receiving a sementation fault midway through the gettext 0.14.1 compile, I cannot perform any emerge related actions. I am consistently receiving "sementation fault" no matter what I try to do with emerge.
Example:
tank root # emerge mysql
Segmentation fault
tank root # emerge -s mysql
Segmentation fault
tank root # emerge -C mysql
Segmentation fault

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.run emerge 'something' or emerge 'someswitch' 'something'
Actual Results:
received "segmentation fault" error message

Expected Results:
emerge to run as normal

tank root # emerge info
Segmentation fault

well, I went back to the machine today to get some info for a friend, and somehow emerge was working - the only difference was that it was that the portage tree had been updated (shared portage tree via nfs from a working machine).

I'm seeing the same problem. Other programs no longer work and give the same "Segmentation fault" message (e.g., 'ls').
