I have an idea for an alternative for ctrl+c for emerge.
A signal, key or whatsoever shall cause:

the same as ctrl+c, but

the current package or packages shall finish compiling and installing, but after that emerge shall not continue with compiling its next packages in its list, instead it shall stop, as you would let it stop with ctrl+c.

Is this a good idea?

It is, I think!
